10ft Wallace and Gromit Rocket

This rocket was built for the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children’s waiting area, it’s a replica of the original from A Grand Day Out, although somewhat larger! Part of the brief was to make it look rough and handmade, but it still had to safe and child proof.

The construction was a solid welded steel frame, and the shell wings etc made from MDF and stretched canvas which was then fiberglassed.
