It started life as a plasticine sculpt, then each body part was individually moulded. Fibreglass was laid into the body to create an empty shell, this is where the mechanisms would be housed (it was only 70mm in lenght!)
The Dragonfly was fully functional, moving head (up/down/left/right), curling tail and flapping wings, all controlled by a radio controlled unit.
Each movement was controlled either by rods or cable which traveled down the green tube to the servo units below. 
one servo controlled the wings, one the tail and two the head.
